Mission

Curtis was fortunate enough to have a family who could financially support his scouting adventures. From his Eagle Scout Project, to annual summer camps with scouts, to High Adventure trips; Curtis was able to gain a well-rounded experience in scouting while learning important survival skills and having fun. Curtis empathized with the young men he was in Scouts with who could not afford these trips and on more than one occasion would lament that he could go on these adventures while his friends and fellow scouts could not.

Curtis passed away in 2019 at just 19 years old.  He had already become a Junior Leader of his scout troop, Troop 10, and was helping others with their journey through scouting.  The Curtis L Melville III Scout Fund was founded in his memory to support youth, teens, and young adults in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas.  While helping to fund High Adventure Trips for individuals in need, this fund's primary mission is to help local communities by funding Eagle Scout Projects which are established in schools, churches, and other non-profit entities, and to assist scouts as they improve community facilities and programs while earning their Eagle Scout rank.
